Years ago I was trying to figure out some niggly issues I was having with my feet when I was running - I was getting quite sore patches on the top of my feet and also felt like the edges were nipping into my foot when I was going up hills.

One afternoon after mindlessly scrolling Instagram I came across a great post which totally opened my eyes to something that was right in front of me but I simply hadn't even considered.....there are different ways to lace your shoes based on the shape of your feet. Who knew?!

As best I can tell, the original image and post comes from this awesome article on Gear Junkie which goes into much more detail than I will here!

This was revelatory for me - I'd never really thought about using lacing to change where the pressure points were in my shoes, I always thought I just needed to get better shoes!

I played around with some of these techniques and finally settled on a hybrid of the high arch, high midfoot and heel lock options but it's well worth playing around and finding out what works for you.

Here's what I currently use .. excuse the dust, it was after the 24 hour Endure24 race! Let me know in the comments what works for you!
